Song: The Audible Soul
“Songs
are jewels of concentrated emotion and thought that can penetrate the
core of your being and connect you with the shared themes of humanity.
To interpret song—as pedagogue, performer, or listener—requires
knowledge, insight, and authenticity. VISI’s immersion
program, customized for individual and group streams, offers new tools
for deep comprehension and appreciation. Our intensive interdisciplinary
approach includes: fascinating lectures designed for musicians, ranging
from poetry, history, philosophy, to physiology, biomusicology, music
therapy and more; workshops on acting, movement, and
stagecraft; master classes and performances with world-class
artists, and explorations in an array of related areas.
“Collaboration is the cornerstone of VISI—an encompassing circle of collective aspiration, receptive listening, and daring creative expression.
“Art song needs advocacy; to broaden its audience requires new strategies for performance. VISI is a haven for brainstorming, experimentation, and supportive feedback. Bring your ideas, and join the revolution.”
— Rena Sharon, Artistic Director, VISI
