Partners and Support
Thank you to our Partners, Sponsors and Contributors
From nursery rhymes to wedding songs and national anthems, nothing evokes deep emotion and memory like a song. Songs cross all boundaries…drawing us together in shared experience.
VISI offers intensive training for singers and teachers from across North America, lectures about global poetry and ideas, workshops for the general public in diverse song traditions, a Music Therapy symposia, and the SONGFIRE Festival of Song. The Song Institute offers a continually expanding service to the Vancouver community, a month-long immersion of courses, concerts, and conversations open to all.
VISI's annual summer sessions are made possible by the generous support of the UBC School of Music, the UBC Department of Film and Theatre and UBC Faculty of Arts and the Office of the Vice President of Research, the BC Arts Council, and City of Vancouver. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richard Kurth, Director, UBC School of Music; Dr. Gage Averill, UBC Dean of Arts; Dr. John Hepburn, UBC Vice President Research & International and our devoted donors, foundations, sponsors and contributors as listed below.
Thank you for joining us and for your support!
Ingrid Suderman, Chair, Board of Directors, Vancouver International Song Institute
