TAS: Young University Artists
June 2-24
Singers and Pianists
1st-3rd year University Students
The TAS-YUA program is an intense experience in everything you need to know about Art Song interpretation!
Enjoy high-level classes in performance style, expressive diction, and collaborative skills, consult some of our many coaches for private sessions, and explore the exciting new realm of Art Song as Theatre.
You will study in small group classes, private lessons, and large events for the VISI community. Every day is filled with dynamic and inspiring learning, and most evenings have optional concerts or workshops.
How DO you read a poem dramatically? You’ll have classes with great coaches in theatrical recitation, to prepare you to feel confident on the concert stage or for the theatre stage.
How DO you stage Art Song? You’ll have sessions with directors and VISI faculty artists who will guide you in the processes of building your own theatre pieces.
How DO you analyze poetry and the poetry-music fusion of Art Song? You’ll have fun and interesting lectures with poetry and music scholars to provide you with new tools and information.
You will have access to the following VISI faculty artists:
